Diagnosis Path: The diagnosis of acute recurrent ethmoidal sinusitis typically involves a medical history review and physical examination. Healthcare providers may perform a nasal endoscopy to visually inspect the sinus openings and nasal passages. Imaging studies such as CT scans are often used to assess the extent of sinus inflammation, detect structural abnormalities, or identify blockages or deviations in the nasal septum. Laboratory tests might also be conducted to identify infectious pathogens if necessary.
