Key Symptoms: Intense burning sensation at the affected area. Redness and swelling of the skin on the forehead and cheek. Formation of blisters filled with clear or cloudy fluid. Pain that may worsen with touch or movement. Discoloration or superficial damage to the skin tissue. Potential ulceration or tissue necrosis in severe cases. Possible swelling of nearby tissues and difficulty moving facial muscles.

Diagnosis Path: Diagnosis of second-degree corrosion injuries is primarily clinical, based on a physical examination of the affected skin. Healthcare providers assess the extent of tissue damage, look for blister formation, redness, and tissue discoloration. In some cases, additional tests such as skin biopsy or imaging may be necessary to evaluate the depth of tissue damage, especially if an infection or deeper tissue involvement is suspected.

Treatment Protocols: Immediate rinsing of the affected area with copious amounts of water to remove residual chemicals. Pain management through medications as prescribed by a healthcare provider.
