Diagnosis Path: Diagnosis involves a physical examination by a healthcare professional, assessing the extent and depth of skin damage. The clinician may inquire about the cause of injury and review the patient’s medical history. In some cases, imaging studies like X-rays can be employed to rule out underlying bone injury, especially if trauma is suspected. The severity of the burn or corrosion is classified based on clinical criteria, with second-degree injuries involving both superficial and deeper skin layers.
