Because it's a catch-all, this family covers a wide range of clinical situations: suturing a stab wound to the chest wall, closing a dehisced abdominal incision, or fixing an unintentional injury made during another procedure. Lower Jaw
The lower jaw region refers to the mandible and its overlying soft tissue and periosteum, forming the movable base of the oral cavity and anchoring the lower teeth. Repair is coded here when trauma, dehiscence, or an unintended defect in this region is corrected by restoring the tissue to its original configuration, such as suturing a soft tissue laceration over the mandibular body or closing a wound following removal of hardware.
