Reposition procedures move a muscle, or a portion of one, to a different location, either back to its normal anatomic position after it has shifted, or to an alternate location chosen to restore function. This is common in tendon transfer surgeries where a muscle's attachment is relocated to compensate for a paralyzed or nonfunctioning muscle elsewhere, and in correcting a muscle that has slipped out of its normal position due to injury.
Because the muscle's own tissue is preserved and simply relocated rather than removed or replaced, these procedures aim to restore or redirect function using tissue the patient already has. Recovery typically requires a period of protected immobilization followed by therapy to retrain the muscle in its new role or position.

The right upper arm muscle group, chiefly the biceps brachii, brachialis, and triceps brachii, spans from the shoulder girdle to the elbow and governs elbow flexion, extension, and forearm supination.
