Azygos Vein
The azygos vein runs along the right side of the thoracic spine, collecting blood from the posterior intercostal veins and the hemiazygos system before arching over the right main bronchus to empty into the superior vena cava, serving as an important collateral pathway when the SVC or inferior vena cava is obstructed.
