The left common carotid arises directly from the aortic arch rather than the brachiocephalic trunk, which can make proximal exposure slightly more involved than on the right, though the cervical portion where supplementation typically occurs is accessed the same way through a standard neck incision. The patch reinforces the arteriotomy closure and helps prevent restenosis, and the material selected, autologous vein or a synthetic substitute, should be clearly recorded. Approach: Percutaneous Endoscopic
