Key Symptoms: Persistent sensation of something in the eyelid, often described as a foreign body or grit Redness and swelling around the affected eyelid Tearing or excessive watering of the eye Discomfort or pain when blinking or moving the eyelid Sensitivity to light (photophobia) Possible vision disturbances if the foreign body irritates the eye surface Presence of a visible lump or lesion in the eyelid

Diagnosis Path: Inspect the eyelid visually for any obvious foreign objects or swelling Use specialized tools like forceps or eyelid retractors to examine the eyelid thoroughly Apply fluorescein dye to check for abrasions or lesions caused by the foreign body Order imaging studies such as X-ray, ultrasound, or CT scan if the object is not visible or suspected to be metallic or inert Assess for signs of infection or secondary damage to adjacent tissues
