Clinical Causes: Genetic predisposition, especially in individuals with certain gene markers like HLA-DRB1 Environmental factors such as smoking or exposure to certain infectious agents Immune system dysfunction causing it to mistakenly attack joint tissues and possibly other organs Hormonal influences that may modulate immune responses

Key Symptoms: Persistent pain, tenderness, and swelling in the left elbow Stiffness in the elbow, particularly in the mornings or after periods of inactivity Joint deformities or loss of joint function over time Fatigue and general feelings of malaise Involvement of other organs such as the lungs, heart, or eyes, leading to additional symptoms like shortness of breath, chest pain, or vision problems Swelling or inflammation in other joints or systemic tissues

Diagnosis Path: Physical examination revealing joint swelling, warmth, and tenderness Blood tests such as rheumatoid factor (RF) and anti-CCP antibodies to support the diagnosis Elevated inflammatory markers like ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate) and CRP (C-reactive protein) Imaging studies, including X-rays or MRI of the affected elbow and other joints to assess joint damage and inflammation Assessment of other organ systems through appropriate investigations based on symptoms
