Clinical Causes: Progression of rheumatoid arthritis leading to systemic inflammation Immune system mistakenly attacking cardiac tissues, causing inflammation Chronic joint inflammation spreading beyond joints, affecting other organs Presence of rheumatoid arthritis specifically involving the hip joints, which may signify more severe systemic disease

Key Symptoms: Chest pain or discomfort, which may worsen with activity or lying down Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, especially when lying flat Fatigue and general weakness Swelling in the feet, ankles, or legs due to fluid buildup Palpitations or irregular heartbeat Persistent dry cough Fever or low-grade fever associated with systemic inflammation Symptoms related to joint discomfort, such as pain, swelling, and stiffness in the hips

Diagnosis Path: Physical examination focusing on cardiac and joint symptoms Echocardiography to assess heart function and detect inflammation or fluid accumulation Electrocardiogram (ECG) to identify abnormal heart rhythms Blood tests, including markers of inflammation (such as ESR or CRP) and rheumatoid arthritis markers (RF, anti-CCP antibodies) Radiographs or MRI scans of affected joints, particularly the hips, to evaluate joint damage Additional tests as needed to rule out other cardiac conditions
