Key Symptoms: Superficial abrasions or scrapes on the scalp's surface Bleeding, often light and easy to control Pain or tenderness around the affected area Swelling or redness at the injury site Presence of dirt, debris, or foreign materials in the wound Possible hair loss around the injured area if hair is torn or pulled

Diagnosis Path: Diagnosis is primarily based on physical examination. The healthcare provider will assess the injury, check for signs of infection, and ensure that no deeper or more serious skull injuries are present. In some cases, they may clean the wound thoroughly and may take photographs for documentation. Imaging studies like X-rays are generally unnecessary unless there is suspicion of underlying skull fracture or intracranial injury.
