Key Symptoms: No noticeable symptoms, especially in early stages Presence of abnormal vessel appearance on eye examination Possible blurred vision or visual disturbances if vascular changes affect the macula Flashes or floaters if associated with other retinal conditions Color vision changes if retinal health deteriorates significantly In rare cases, eye discomfort or redness associated with inflammation

Diagnosis Path: Dilated fundus examination to visualize the retina and its vessels directly Retinal imaging, such as fluorescein angiography, to assess blood flow and vessel integrity Optical coherence tomography (OCT) to evaluate retinal layers and identify swelling or other structural changes Reviewing patient medical history, especially for systemic conditions like diabetes or hypertension Blood tests may be recommended to identify underlying systemic issues contributing to retinal vessel changes
