Diagnosis Path: Diagnosis of Yersinia enterocolitica enteritis typically involves clinical evaluation and laboratory tests. Stool cultures are the primary method, where samples are examined for the presence of Yersinia bacteria. Blood tests may also be performed to check for signs of infection or inflammation. In some cases, imaging studies or endoscopy may be used to assess the extent of intestinal involvement.

Treatment Protocols: Treatment mainly focuses on relieving symptoms and supporting recovery. Mild cases often resolve on their own with rest, hydration, and a balanced diet. In more severe infections, antibiotics such as fluoroquinolones or aminoglycosides may be prescribed under medical supervision. It is also recommended to avoid dairy products, which can worsen symptoms, and to practice good hygiene measures to prevent spread.
