Diagnosis Path: Physical examination assessing chest pain and heart function Electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) to identify abnormal heart rhythms Imaging studies such as chest X-ray or echocardiography to visualize cardiac structures Cardiac MRI or CT scan for detailed assessment of the injury Blood tests to check for markers of heart damage, such as troponins
