Diagnosis Path: Skin biopsy: Examining a sample of skin from the blister edge under a microscope to identify characteristic features Direct immunofluorescence: Detecting immune deposits at the basement membrane of skin samples Blood tests: Looking for circulating antibodies associated with pemphigoid Additional imaging or tests may be recommended to assess the extent or rule out other conditions
