Key Symptoms: Severe pain in the affected right hand, especially with movement Swelling and redness over the affected joint Warmth around the joint area Stiffness and reduced range of motion in the hand Fever and chills in some cases Tenderness when touching the joint Reduced grip strength or difficulty performing daily activities

Diagnosis Path: Physical examination to assess swelling, redness, and range of motion Blood tests to identify signs of infection and elevated white blood cell count Imaging studies such as X-rays or MRI scans to detect joint damage or presence of fluid Joint aspiration, where a sample of joint fluid is removed and tested for bacteria, confirming the presence of Staphylococcus Gram stain and culture of joint fluid to identify the specific bacteria causing the infection

Treatment Protocols: Antibiotic therapy: Intravenous antibiotics specific to Staphylococcus bacteria, often for several weeks Joint drainage: Removing infected fluid from the joint through needle aspiration or surgical intervention to reduce pressure and bacterial load Rest and immobilization of the affected hand to minimize pain and prevent further injury Pain management: Use of analgesics to control discomfort Surgical options: In severe or persistent cases, procedures such as joint debridement or repair may be necessary to remove damaged tissue Rehabilitation: Physical therapy may be recommended after initial treatment to restore movement and strength in the hand
